Sidelight Monocore

Sidelight fibers emit light fed in by the light generators at each end over the entire surface. Therefore they look similar to a neon tube. As they are maintenance-free, they are especially suitable for applications in spots which are difficult to access. The optical fiber is protected by a special covering against UV rays, water and chemicals. They can even be installed permanently in pools or fountains.
Monocore optical fibers use the entire surface of the optical core for the conduction of light, therefore they can transport much more light than bundled multicore fibers with the same diameter. Besides they can easily be shortened.
